The Olympic torch has finally reached the Russian town of Sochi, where this year's Winter Games will take place. It marks the near completion of the flame's 65,000 kilometer route, the longest in the history of the games.
On Wednesday, the torch edged one step closer to the end of its 123-day journey across Russia, arriving at Sochi's Krasnaya Polyana railway station. During the epic journey, the torch relay reached the North Pole, went to the top of Europe's highest mountain, plunged into the world's deepest lake and was even taken into space by Russian cosmonauts.
The relay featured famous cultural figures, athletes and other celebrities, and drew big crowds across Russia. The torch's journey will finally end at the Opening Ceremony of the Sochi 2014 Games on Friday
